Guide to Enrolment

Important information for new students and parents

Setting you up for academic success

We invest time in setting all our students up for academic success, which begins at enrolment. To help you get ready for this, we have outlined the steps you need to take once you have received your GCSE results as well as some important information about your enrolment appointment.

Step One – GCSE Results Day

Step one of enrolment involves you securing your place at Sir John Deane’s.

You must email your GCSE results to the College on Thursday 21st August. This should be an official document with your name and have the school name or logo clearly visible e.g. a PDF, a scan or a clear photograph of your results slip taken on your phone.

Once we have your GCSE results we can confirm your place at the College.

Step Two – Your Enrolment Appointment

Step two of enrolment will take place after GCSE results day. We enrol over a three-day period in order that all families have the time and space to comfortably consider options. You will be given an enrolment appointment on one of the following days:

  • Tuesday 26th August
  • Wednesday 27th August
  • Thursday 28th August

Parents are actively encouraged to attend enrolment, as we recognise they play a vital role in the success of students.

During your enrolment appointment, you will meet with teachers to discuss your subject choices and confirm a programme of study that will set you up for academic success.

Full details will be emailed to parents and applicants ahead of enrolment and this page will be updated nearer the time.
