Our talented musicians and singers returned to the stage last week for the college’s first musical performance of the year.
The annual event, which is held in the college’s historic Brunner Hall, is a highlight of the Performing Arts calendar.
Students impressed with a delightful mix of solo and small ensemble performances, including music by Mozart, Beethoven, Rachmaninov and Rodney Bennett, as well as modern classics from Lady Gaga and Carole King.
The chamber choir performed favourites including, Mr Sandman, the Saxophone Quartet mesmerised with their performance of Tango for Lisa, while the Wind and Brass Ensembles delighted the audience with their musical renditions.
Alison Richards, Director of Music at Sir John Deane’s, said: “It really was a wonderful return to live music, and beautifully showcased the musical talent of our students.”
